ABOUT US

George Child and Family Welfare (GCFW) has been serving the community of George since 1926. Over the years we have been a lifeline for thousands of children and their families.

In 2000, owner of Fancourt, Mrs Sabine Plattner, became our Patron, and because of her support we have been able to change many children and families lives.

We thank Mrs Plattner and all our sponsors, donors, volunteers and individuals who enable us to be a vital link for all the communities we serve.

?We are affiliated to Child Welfare South Africa and proud to be a project of Sabine Plattner African Charities.

SERVICES

This is a safe haven for children needing short-term emergency placements while social workers investigate the best options for their long-term care. As of January 2016 over 40 children have benefited from this very special home since it was officially opened on 10 July 2014.

Screened volunteers play a vital role shopping, assisting with the children and taking them on outings.

?HOW CAN YOU HELP

• Sponsor a child to attend a creche, Primary School or High School
• Support a child in the Safe House
• Supply a basic food parcel for a needy family
• Donate anything you don’t want anymore that someone else can use
• Become a member of the organization and offer your services as a volunteer
• Donate funding for the running costs or a specific project of your choice
• Provide for the numerous home based creches in our community, eg, educational toys, meals, etc
